Condolence: Senor Tritto is one of those teachers that you never forget. I'll always remember his philosophical and silly sayings he quoted in the classroom, the adoring way he talked about his wife and the pure energy he shared with his students. Senor Tritto you'll never be forgotten.

Condolence: Mr. Tritto was an amazing teacher. I did very well at Kensington High School. He taught me Spanish for 2 years. The last time I saw him, he was working in a toll booth on the US side, and I was coming back from a day at the beach in Canada. He remembered me and asked me questions in Spanish. I loved his smile and his easy-going nature. RIP MR. Tritto!

Condolence From: Hannah Raiken-Schulman, Buffalo, New York
Condolence: I had the honor of working with Mike at the Arts Academy. We collaborated on creating an original ballet. Mike wrote the libretto entitled, Light From A Dark Canvas - A Ballet of the Holocaust. Mike's verse and poetry brought to life one of the darkest moments in history with beauty and integrity. The ballet brought the school community together and it gave students, staff and audiences time to reflect. Mike was an amazing person and he will be deeply missed. His words will resonate in our hearts. All our love to his beautiful family.

Condolence From: Nan Lampka Simpson
Condolence: Dear Marjorie and Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved one. “Senor Tritto” was my Spanish teacher at Kensington High School back in 1972. He was one of my favorite teachers because he was kind, caring, creative, funny, and encouraging. He made Spanish so interesting and relevant. He shared profound and beautiful Spanish poetry and music with us, taking the time and making the effort to bring in a record player and albums. I was especially moved by poetry Pablo Neruda and stories of what large corporations like United Fruit were doing in Latin America. I still remember the songs “Deurme Negrita” and “Caminante No Hay Camino – Se Hace Camino Al Andar.” Senor Tritto didn’t just teach Spanish to us – he helped us understand our world and appreciate poetry and music. He instilled in me a lifelong passion for peace and social justice. Back then, in my college years, it led me to volunteer and then work at the Western New York Peace Center, where I met Walter, my husband now of 32 years, who was then director of the Center. So what I learned in his class has had a great influence on my life. I would like to add one more comment regarding Senor Tritto’s love for his students and generosity in sharing his time and knowledge. He offered to our second year Spanish class the opportunity to take extra after-school classes to study Spanish 3 so we could take that exam in June. Due to his excellent teaching skills and patience I passed with a 93! He just beamed at me and I was so happy to make him proud. He was so special to me and so many others, and he will be greatly missed. With Sympathy and So Much Appreciation, Nan Lampka Simpson P.S. He was such a sweetheart and so guapo (handsome) I know everyone had a crush on him!

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Margie and the entire Tritto family for the loss of such a kind loving humble human being .!! My memories of Mike go way back to age 8 or 9 growing up on the West Side. We were Boy Scouts and his dad was the Troopmaster and my first male role model . We both had paper routes and ended up as classmates at Fallon .Later his brother Joe married into my family (my first cousin Marie Christopher ) Soon after graduation we became off campus roommates at Gannon .Always smiling ,always focused , always even tempered and he was like a rock to those of us living a little too friviously ! Even then he was madly in love with his beautiful Margie ! Don't think I would have graduated without Mikes gentle guidance. A few years ago we reconnected for a time sharing his love of teaching ( which I later became) , poetry ,and memories of childhood . Such a fine man ! He was loved by so many ! He will live on in many more hearts !VAYA CON DIOS MIO AMIGO ,!

While I never took Spanish from him, I was in some study halls where he was in charge. He was a wonderful man and I would see him in later years when I also became a teacher in the Buffalo Public School System for 33 years. May he rest in peace and may God comfort those who mourn his loss.

Condolence: My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Michael Tritto. Señor Tritto was a wonderful teacher! I have strong memories of being in his class. He did not let me give up when it got rough and believed in me. I know he believed in all of his students. To this day, My mother always reminds me of how he did not let me 'drop' his class when I was being immature and short sighted. I know, a teenager. That gesture made a very strong impact in my life. He was strong and caring. People mistake strength. He was strong enough to believe in his students. I am honored to have had him as my teacher and to have completed those four years and get that regents diploma in Spanish! Mr.Tritto, you gave me life lessons I carry to this day and I thank you!
