Dear Family of John,

I was a good friend of his when he and his dad lived a few houses down from my parents on Eckhert. John was a really good kid with a good heart. Despite his issues, he always made sure that everyone else came first before himself. I remember one Halloween he scared kids by hiding in a coffin he and his father had made. His dad always had rhubarb in his backyard as well as a couple of other veggies that he always gave to my parents. He was always a good heart to the kids as he gave a majority of his time at the town boys and girls club. He hardly got upset about anything, but when he did he really kept a grudge. We have had our hard times but eventually put all things aside and got over it. I remember playing video games with him, it’s hard to remember which ones because he had a ton of favorites. He was always filled with laughter. After the passing of his mom and then the passing of his dad, I feel things were really hard on him, Even though he may not have showed it. He always had a hard time letting things go. Now he is reunited with his mom and dad up in the skies above. R.I.P my dear friend. Until we meet again.

Sincerely,
Andrew

I will miss you so much, John. We were a home. For 10 years, you were my housemate. First a border in my home and later my apartment roommate. You were ornery at times. But, we made a home. That is important. It takes more than one person to make a home. You were so helpful. You would help build furniture you would never use. You would sometimes share your beloved takeout or order me fries as a surprise. We both ordered tiny things for eachother online. Sometimes you would just yell through your door. Sometimes you would come out and talk for hours. I would still fold your t shirts, though you said you would rather throw them in a drawer. You laughed when I said 'Really?' in a deep voice and tilted head to something you said. We both loved gadgets. I so wish you had seen the Angry Mama microwave cleaner that came when you were in the hospital. I will never forget you.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to John’s family. I knew John from the Boys and Girls Club and then, infamously, from our poker night. John will always be remembered and will truly be missed. To his family, I am so sorrowful for your loss. God bless and keep you all. - Chris Parks, Buffalo NY

John will always be the guy I remember making me laugh, shake my head, and laugh more on a daily basis. He had his share of quirks, but he had a big heart. He put his heart into everything he did. His help with the youth of the boys and girls club and kindness in all of the communities he was a part of left a wake that will last forever. Here's one to smile on. Thanks for everything buddy.
