...one of the most kind-hearted people I've ever met, and I'm honored to say I was fortunate enough to be his nephew. Uncle Wally, I will miss you tremendously, and I'll always remember your hearty laugh and your smile.

Walter Szmula was my neighbor for about 20 years. He was the best neighbor and role model for me and my children. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to Patti, Mike, Brian and Jen. And to all the extended family. Wally was a stellar man.
My favorite memories of Wally are when he cooked hot dogs on his grill for us during shoveling snow in the blizzard of 77. Also when he took all the kids to see a burning factory on Hertel Avenue and kept them safe. Also when he and Pat took my father to the hospital when he cut himself on the table saw. I could go on. He will be missed.
Love Mrs. Carol

Mr. Wally Szymla and his lovely family camped at Mockingbird Park for some 45 years. I especially remember the motocross racing years, my brother and his boys. So many fun and happy times. He was always so kind to me. I consider this another family member departed. Deepest sympathies to his beloved family. ❤🙏
