The Pendryses was a large, family -oriented group that especially enjoyed holidays, picnics and just ordinary get to gethers and dinners. But, I recall the following especially, and recently chatted to Aunt Mary about a few of them. We remembered these fondly, and laughed a bit too,
......I remember the pierogi dinners at her house on Bush street. We woud sit around her big table and enjoy this culinary delight. It was a special treat, and they were very, very good.
......I remember Lenten Fish Frys at Nortel's Grill during Lent. We went with my parents, aunts and cousins, as it was the " Lenten" thing to do.. They were a wondeful opportunity to meet, eat, and have fun.
......I remember taking my son, Alex and my sister taking her children to see Aunt Mary on Hallowen so our children could show her the Halloween costumes our Mom made for them. Aunt Mary enjoyed seeing them all dressed up. Aunt Mary always gave the kids great treats.
......I remember the "sleep overs" that Judy and I had when we were little. It was a special treat to spend the night away from home. Aunt Mary always had fun activities and yummy snacks prepred. Judy and I played with Alan's toys. I think Aunt Mary liked having girls around once in a while....
......I remember Aunt Mary telling me how much she missed my Mom after she passed away, and how she could still picture her (Helen) sometimes, sittng on the couch , having coffee, and reading the paper from the front to back, as she always did....
Thank you for these mmories, Aunt Mary.
Always, Clauda
