Dear family of Joe: Growing up in Black Rock, Joe was the resident heart throb. His brother, Johnny, was also cool and handsome, but he was away at school most of the time. My girlfriends and I would take turns wearing his ring. He married our friend Mary Lou and while he was in the service we had to listen to all of his voice messages he would send her.We all danced at their wedding at the St. Elizabeth Hall and I caught their wedding bouquet. After they moved to Boston, we lost touch. We all shared Mary Lou's loss. I did spend some time with Joe in later years and still loved him. I called him every August 7th for his birthday. He will always be one of my heart throbs. There was no nicer guy than him.
